Usage & Description
What is PGP?
PGP (Pretty Good Privacy) uses a public/private keypair to encrypt and sign data.
- Your public key encrypts messages for you.
- Your private key decrypts them -- keep it safe.
Where does the data go?
Nowhere. Key generation runs entirely in your browser via WebAssembly/JS.
No server calls. Closing this tab discards anything not downloaded or copied.
RSA vs. ECC
RSA
Battle-tested, widely supported, larger keys and slower operations.
- Universally compatible
- 4096-bit recommended
ECC / Curve25519
Smaller keys, faster operations, equivalent security at much lower key sizes.
- Modern, efficient
- Slightly less universal client support
Everything on this page runs locally in your browser. Nothing is transmitted anywhere.
